Waterdown Farmers' Market

Fenwick Berry Farm is a first-generation family farm in Fenwick, in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, run by Dave and Christine Klyn-Hesselink since 1999 on close to 150 acres. They grow strawberries and raspberries from the end of May into October, blackberries and blueberries from mid-July to mid-September, plus cherries, peaches, nectarines, apples, sweet peas and sweet corn, using raised beds, trickle irrigation and biological pest control. Pre-picked berries are sold at the wholesale barn at 1760 Balfour Street, and the farm sells at farmers' markets from June to mid-October.

SnaxCo is a small Burlington cookie company built around unexpected flavours rather than a plain chocolate-chip cookie. Founded in March 2023 by baker and CEO Joanne McFadden after she settled in Burlington in late 2022, every flavour is tested and tweaked in-house.

Rich Hevesi is the founder of I'd Tap That Maple Syrup, a company built on a deep love for both crafting exceptional maple syrup and honouring Ontario's natural beauty. Operating on a 100-acre farm in the Algonquin Highlands, he makes maple syrup from sugar and red maples on his farm, with each batch tapped during the perfect seasonal conditions.

Matilda Sword Distillers is a Hamilton craft gin brand led by founder and CEO Matteo Merla and his wife and business partner, Amy. The gin project first took shape in Hamburg, Germany, and became a company after Matteo moved to Canada in 2020. The name honours Matilda, the Princess of Canossa, remembered for her strength and warrior spirit, which is where the motto "We Are All Warriors" comes from. The gins are dreamt up at their downtown Hamilton headquarters and distilled with a partner distillery in Ayr, Ontario. There are four recipes: London Dry, Flower Feeling (a rose gin), Oxigin Black and Oxigin Gold, all sold in 750 ml bottles at 40% alcohol.

Jones Family Greens grows ecologically grown produce. Founder Matt Jones shifted to farming to focus on soil health as a catalyst to sequester carbon and grow more flavourful, nutritious food.

HARC Bagels is a family-owned business specializing in handcrafted bagels. The name HARC represents the initials of the owners' children. Bagels are made in small batches and hand-rolled in the New York style, baked daily with a focus on Burlington and Hamilton.

The Wine Shop has more than 100 wine retail stores across Ontario, plus online ordering with delivery. It sells wines, ciders and spritzers from Peller Estates, Trius Winery, Wayne Gretzky Estates and Thirty Bench, along with brands such as XOXO, Black Cellar, Good Natured, Honest Lot and Vivo, PJ's Ontario craft cream liqueurs, wine gifts and accessories.

The JC Cattle Co raises premium Speckle Park beef on the Chalmers family farm outside Milverton, Ontario. Three farmers built the business around local, high-quality beef: cattle are grass- and grain-finished without added steroids or hormones, processed at Peel Meat Packers in Drayton and cut and wrapped by Yungblut Meats in Tavistock. The farm also follows a nose-to-tail approach, with bone broth, tallow products and skincare.

Blue Gables Acres is a haskap berry farm and micro winery in Paris, Ontario, established in 2020. Kimmy and Delano Osmond grow Beauty, Beast and Boreal Blizzard haskaps on about five acres, using organic methods though not certified organic. Kimmy has been making wine since 2012 and brings her Métis heritage to foraging, preserving and winemaking from local plants and fruit. Haskaps taste like raspberries and blueberries smashed together; the farm turns them into dry and off-dry haskap wines, fruit wines, haskap jam and spreads, and freeze-dried berries.

Baba Link Farm is a small, very biodiverse organic farm on 10 acres of the Kozowyk family farm in Flamborough, Hamilton, worked since 2002 by Pat Kozowyk and Ernst von der Kall and named for Pat’s mother, “Baba” Betty (Baba is Ukrainian for grandmother). Its fresh produce has been certified organic since 2008, now by CSI. Three orchards interplant heirloom tree fruit with berries, herbs, flowers and native plants, and the farm sells fruit, culinary and tea herbs, edible and cut flowers, a few annual vegetables and small-batch jams and jellies. It was a 2013 regional recipient of the Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation. Find it at the Waterdown Farmers’ Market on Saturdays (sharing a stall with Escarpment Kombucha), with farm pickup and online orders through Open Food Network.
