Cobourg Farmers' Market

Knuckle Down Farm is a small-scale organic market garden on a back-channel of the Trent River near Stirling, Frankford, and Campbellford, Ontario. Farmer Jenny Cook, who established the farm in 2012, grows more than fifty varieties of vegetables, garlic, herbs, and flowers largely with hand tools, and also runs a CSA.

Salsa might simply mean “sauce” in Spanish but we make salsas that deliver flavour, depth, and poignant heat to any dish you create. We roast our ingredients over an open fire and craft our salsas to highlight the complex flavours of roasted tomatoes, the sweetness of onions, the herbaceousness of fresh chilies, and the deep smokiness of dried ones.

Northumberland Soapworks is Nancy and Jean Gagne's natural soap business, making handmade soaps and herbal-infused skin care in small batches in their farmhouse studio since 1999. The bars are cold-process and cured for at least four weeks, made from olive, coconut, sustainable palm and castor oils with moisturizers like shea butter, cocoa butter and oatmeal, scented only with pure essential oils and coloured with herbs, clays and spices. More than 30 varieties plus seasonal scents are sold at the Cobourg Farmers' Market, where the Gagnes have been vendors since 2000, and online.

Soul-Sa is salsa made in small batches in Cobourg with fresh vegetables, sourced from local farms when possible. Six flavours, each in four heat levels, with no thickeners, gluten, dairy, oils, chemical preservatives or artificial flavour or colour. Free samples at the Cobourg Farmers' Market.

We bring healthy, chemical-free and tasty produce 100% freshly picked from our Warkworth farm. Including vegetables such as Salad Mix, Heirloom tomatoes and potatoes, cucumbers, kale, lettuce, eggplant, garlic, onions, snap peas, yellow beans, slicing beans, Patty-pans, spinach, squash, and more. Art Farm fruit includes fall raspberries, black currants and ground cherries. Bouquets of field flowers are a weekly feature, also all grown without applications of fungicides or other chemicals. The season starts with potted plants, mainly herbs and Heirloom tomatoes.

Family-owned Olive It and More hand-stuffs gourmet olives in more than 27 varieties, from blue cheese, garlic and jalapeño to vermouth-soaked martini olives, plus dirty martini mixes, pickled cocktail garnishes and other olive products. The business began in 2003 when founder Michael McGillen made jalapeño-stuffed olives for family parties; the olives are sourced from Greece and Spain.
