The SEED
The SEED is a charitable, non-profit food program of the Guelph Community Health Centre working toward a better food system in Guelph-Wellington, where over 25% of households cannot afford the food they need. At its sliding-scale SEED Market inside Guelph Farmers' Market on Saturdays (8 a.m.–1 p.m.), shoppers pay anywhere from 33% below retail up to the retail price for local and imported fruit and vegetables, soup starters and Upcycle Kitchen Makeover Muffins, and can pick up online grocery orders. Its other programs include SEED Wholesale, Shelldale Farm Park, Upcycle Kitchen, Fresh Food Rx and Souper Heroes.
