At the heart of the Thorncliffe Park community, the Thorncliffe Park Community Market has been an energetic and vibrant hub for the past 15 years. Every Friday from May to October, hundreds of neighbours gather in R.V. Burgess Park from 3 p.m. until sunset. The Thorncliffe Park Women’s Committee, a grassroots not-for-profit, runs the market to give newcomer women entrepreneurial opportunities. Vendors sell clothing, jewellery, and artisan food, and the park’s outdoor tandoor oven bakes fresh bread including bolani and nan.

The Park Cafe runs year-round in R.V. Burgess Park, the heart of the community. We serve a variety of grab-and-go snacks along with lunch and dinner plates. We are a cafe with a social cause — we provide jobs and skills to women and youth in the community. We run as a non-profit and the sales from our items go back to fund meal programs for the community. TPWC's Park Cafe provides a safe space for women to gain employment skills and build economic security.
