About
Brooks Farms is a family farm at 122 Ashworth Road in Mount Albert, started in the mid-1800s when Edward Brooks brought his family from England and settled near Mount Albert. For over 150 years it grew field crops and livestock; in 1990 Alvin and Brenda Brooks added pick-your-own berries, and the farm has since grown into a destination farm with a farm market, bakery and cafe, pick-your-own fruit and vegetables, a barnyard playland, seasonal festivals and an event barn. Its bakery is known for signature gourmet donuts and gourmet lumberjack bagels, alongside cookies, maple muffins, butter tarts, pies, scones and fresh bread. At farmers' markets it brings fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods and preserves, selling at the Newmarket Main Street Farmers' Market on Saturdays and the Georgina Farmers' Market on Sundays.
