Cosmo's Smoked Meats makes homemade European-style smoked meats and cheeses. Cosmo founded the business in 1978 as the Alliston Mini Mart, began selling at farmers' markets across South and Central Ontario in 1990, and now runs it with his son Jim. Its 25-plus products include salamis, pepperettes, landjaeger, summer sausage, beef jerky, bacon and cured pork shoulder, plus award-winning asiago and goat cheese and a 10-year-old cheddar. Orders ship at a flat rate or can be picked up curbside in Thornton or at its summer markets, including Bala on Mondays, Bracebridge on Saturdays and Uxbridge on Sundays.
